Synopsis

Irene Barker, a reclusive poet in her 30s living with mild cerebral palsy, retreats from New York to her isolated childhood home on the island of Litha after a painful breakup. Seeking solitude, she moves into her late grandmother’s vicarage overlooking the mysterious and picturesque Ripple Bay.

Locals avoid Ripple Bay, whispering tales of hauntings and dangerous waters following a string of unexplained accidents. Irene’s arrival coincides with unnatural weather, vengeful spirits, and eerie phenomena that begin to plague the village, all seemingly linked to the bay.

With the help of Tom, a local policeman, Irene delves into the village’s hidden history. As they investigate pagan rituals and the secrets of a long-dead priest, Irene uncovers a dark legacy buried in the heart of the community - one that connects directly to her own past.
